Bankers A Fairy Tale
The Banks have been screwing us…. Noooooo!!!!!
Time for a fairy tale to take our mind off things..
Somewhere within an ivory tower made of gold someone decided that we should all pay a little more for our mortgage, all went well for them, until one day a dragon “who just could not keep it’s fucking mouth shut” starting breathing fire at the tower.
The End!!!
Or is it! Hey what about the peasants you cry how did they fare. Have you noticed in fairy tales no one asks about the little guys ploughing the fields or begging on the streets.
Hey I tell you what let’s try writing the fairy tale again, let’s make it a little post-modern.
Once upon a time a King lived in a Castle made of gold. He had a huge amount of money locked in his castle but he fancied some more. So he thought rightyho “so I am stealth taxing the poor, but it is just not bringing in enough money”, someone said (or perhaps a voice in his head said) let us lie to the little guy and tell him that he must pay us some more money. So that is what he did. Everything was good, but greed begets greed, so he got some of his mates to also follow this idea and the next thing you know they were all raking in huge cash amounts. The lords and ladies who helped finance the King’s tower were really happy as they got plenty of kick back, and after all the only person getting hurt were the little guy, and who gives a fuck about them, not even you my fairy story reading friend (see above).
Suddenly a big bad Dragon starting saying “it is all a lie, they are cheating you”, not a lot of people noticed or cared. The King though got greedier and greedier and told us he had no money and the little guy had to help him out, and they did. They also got their squire to tell the little guy that we were all in this crisis together. But you see we were not it was just a fucking fairy story to make us feel loved, because at the same time they were still charging us more and more. The big bad dragon got louder and louder “THEY ARE CHEATING US!!!” It roared. Then one day the King could not stand the peasants grumbling anymore. He one day looked in the mirror and saw a monster staring back at him. So he jumped from his castle walls, but only before threatening to stab all his friends in the back on the way out. He also made sure he had the assurance that a large cash bed would be built to cushion his fall.
The end or perhaps the beginning, how would I know after all I am just a little guy.
GREED:
What do we do to fix an endemic culture of greed. The banks are screwing us they gamble with our cash like a drunk idiot in a casino. When it goes wrong we have to bail them out. Why is it this way, because every other part of it is rotten. The politicians are bought through party donations made by the big companies and banks. The government borrows money from other banks and organisations at a rate assigned to them by financial organisations, dare to fuck about and the cost of of government borrowing will go up. The Newspapers the former champions that we gave prizes to and made films and books of thier deeds, now tell us who to vote for and make and break the great, good, shylocks, and shite-houses at will. I hope the latest banking scandal will be the proverbial straw and camel but I really doubt it. The system is too rotten and has been for far too long. The Banks are not alone in this the energy companies are so greedy that they raise prices when there is no reason to apart from greed, and when prices fall that they pay they take 6 months to let what we pay fall back down.
What do we do where can we go.. We need to start with government we need to remove financial backing of parties by donations, this is the first step, we need to have no shadow voting groups like the unions. We need to remove the media from manipulation of politicians. We need to break the mighty press barons monopolies, change the law, your company (or group of companies) can only own one media outlet (one newspaper or TV or Radio company). This is just the start from there we need strong brave hero politicians, where do we get them from, after all this is not a fairy tale.
